The Behemoth’s Pit People Escapes Early Access on March 2 for PC and Xbox One

While indie developers often get lost in the quagmire that is Early Access, developer The Behemoth’s Pit People is breaking out to an official release in under two weeks. According to a brand new trailer, eager indie strategy fans can grab Pit People on March 2, 2018 for both PC and Xbox One.

The news of the official release date was revealed in both the new announcement trailer (below) and a blog post on The Behemoth’s development blog. In the blog post, they tout the (relatively) short Early Access period of 409 days — a fact that they boast as “one of the fastest” but also “no need to fact check.” And this is exactly the type of humor fans of The Behemoth have come to appreciate over the years.

Those who have been enjoying the game in early access should expect a pretty grand update. The final release update will complete the story — adding in cinematics — as well as 15 new bonus missions in a brand new World Map. And this comes on the back of healthy content updates that have been unloaded throughout the year.

For those out of the loop, Pit People is a strategy game based off of berry farmer. Really. In our preview of the game from over a year ago, we praised the game’s charmingly simple and funny design philosophy.

As mentioned above, Pit People officially releases (out of Early Access) for both PC and Xbox One on March 2, 2018. Check out the release date announcement below for a quick chuckle and highlight of the progress made since it hit Early Access:
