If you remember around this time last year, Avengers: Infinity War supervillain Thanos made his way into Epic Games’ Fortnite in a limited time event that let players control the Mad Titan. Now, ahead of the release of this month’s Avengers: Endgame, it seems like Thanos could soon be making his way back to the battle royale title.
According to some new datamined information found in the code of Fortnite, Thanos’ name has re-appeared meaning that he’ll likely be back in the game for a brief period of time. The string of code specifically indicates that Thanos will be a killer, meaning that players will surely be able to control him once again. Whether or not the game mode Thanos is involved in though will be the same as last year remains to be seen.
Honestly, this shouldn’t come as a big surprise not only because it again lines up with the release of Endgame but because of how popular the Thanos mode was last year. Since Epic already has the character created and designed, it wouldn’t be hard to insert him back in another limited time mode.
You’d have to imagine we’ll likely hear a whole lot more about Thanos’ return to Fortnite from Epic Games itself in the coming days or weeks as we near the launch of Endgame on April 26. We’ll update you once we know more officially.
Fortnite is available now for play on every platform around.
