When revealing the Kingdom Hearts 2020 trailer today, Tetsuya Nomura in his tweets told fans to “look at the text at the beginning of the trailer”. If you do so, you’ll spot this text and table.
It reads “Kingdom Hearts Series 2nd Phase”. There are the logos for Kingdom Hearts III Remind, and Kingdom Hearts Dark Road. While blurry, the third logo is the Melody of Memory logo.
And then you have two open spots. We can conclude that Tetsuya Nomura, Square Enix and Disney still have at least 2 more unannounced Kingdom Hearts projects. Seeing this is the “Kingdom Hearts 2020″ trailer, it’s possible we might hear about these projects before 2020 ends.
This isn’t too surprising considering the incredible amount of time and games that released between the releases of Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts III. With this Kingdom Hearts Series 2nd Phase, We’re pretty much entering a new era of gotta play them all, with Kingdom Hearts games releasing on various platforms. Each with new information, lore, and teasing.
Perhaps another Kingdom Hearts game will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X as well, as both next-gen consoles are planned to launch at the end of 2020. This is only speculation on my part though. But it’s likely, seeing the tendency of Kingdom Hearts spinoffs to release on multiple different platforms.
