Soon after the release of Neo The World Ends With You, creative producer and character designer Tetsuya Nomura shared a very special message for fans, alongside a new artwork of Mikagi.
Over on Twitter, Tetsuya Nomura acknowledged fans who played the original The World Ends With you, on Nintendo DS, thanking them for the support all these years.
Initially titled Subarashiki Kono Sekai It’s a Wonderful World, the JRPG with a banging OST was first launched on July 26, 2007. The sequel, Shin Subarashiki Kono Sekai, named Neo: The World Ends With You outside Japan, was launched exactly 14 years later, on July 26, 2021, on PS4 and Switch.

The final trailer we released showcases both characters returning from the first game, the Twisters, and the mysterious Mikagi voiced by Seiya Konishi. I hope you will all enjoy the Reaper’s Game”.

Neo: The World Ends With You is a great sequel from what I’ve seen of it so far. The battle system especially is a particularly pleasant surprise. Kinda feeling like what-if Valkyrie Profile had a 3D battle system game. Seeing each character or badge is on separate buttons.
Neo The World Ends With You will launch on PC via Epic Games Store later this summer – Tetsuya Nomura is working on several games at Square Enix too, including Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin. Last but not least, note that Square Enix also published an interview focusing on the character designs of Neo: TWEWY. Stay tuned as we might bring you a summary soon.
