Developer Studio Mono has announced on Kickstarter that the first closed beta has begun for their upcoming game Insomnia: The Ark.
The Russian developer says that the beta includes four hours of gameplay and the first story quests. Beta testers will be able to craft items, scavenge, and fight just like they will in the finished game. Studio Mono is asking players to provide them with feedback about the English translation of the game and any other issues including graphics, gameplay mechanics, and quests. Those who pledged £40 (about 54 USD) or more and have an active Steam account will receive the beta key.
Studio Mono released a trailer last month showing off more of the space station Object 6, the dystopian setting of Insomnia: The Ark that definitely was influenced by games like Bioshock and Fallout. If that doesn’t peak your interest, the game also won “Best Desktop Game” and “Excellence in Visual Art” at the DevGAMM Moscow 2018 Awards. Hopefully this closed beta means that Insomnia: The Ark will be released in the next few months as it currently only has 2018 set as its release date.
A Kickstarter campaign for Insomnia: The Ark began several years ago. The campaign says that the game will be available for PC, Mac, and Linux, but its Steam page only shares system requirements for PC at the moment.
