In just a few days, Image & Form will be releasing the fifth SteamWorld game, a card-based RPG titled SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech, for Nintendo Switch. To build up anticipation for the impending launch, the developer released both a launch trailer and a plethora of new screenshots. You can check out the latest trailer for this new SteamWorld game below:
As you can tell from the trailer, SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech does play out like as one would expect a turn-based RPG to. That being said, the game also spices fights up by having players construct a deck of “punch-cards”. There will be over 100 different cards for players to choose from. The turn-based RPG had been a heavily requested genre for the SteamWorld series to tackle, so Image & Form is finally delivering on that request with this game.
The game also clearly retains the steampunk aesthetic all of the SteamWorld titles have gone for. While SteamWorld Dig and its sequel blended steampunk with the western and SteamWorld Heist combined steampunk and sci-fi, SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech clearly splices steampunk elements into a fantasy setting.
You can also see some of the new screenshots for the game below. SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech will finally release for Nintendo Switch digitally on April 25. While the game is a digital only Switch exclusive at launch, the developers have promised to bring the game to other platforms and release it physically later this year.
