Similar to Cyberpunk 2077, Star Citizen has also been in development since 2012, but the difference is the latter is still in the Alpha phase and there is no official release window for the game yet. That being said, the developers behind the game shared a new video recently, showing off all the important content that the game received in 2020.
Star Citizen is a big-scale project with a lot of investment from gamers and multiple companies that still has a long way to reach the end of the development process. Despite being in development for eight years, the game is still in the Alpha phase and its latest version is 3.12 that launched later last week. The new version has brought some new systems to the mining job, a new location called Space Station Refinery Deck, and a bunch of new starships and weapons. Below you can check out the video:
As mentioned in the trailer, in a year that the whole world has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Star Citizen continued growing and the developers brought more new features and numerous improvements to every aspect of the game. From new quests, new vehicles, and new starships, to UI improvements, camera updates, and lots of world enhancements.
With the new year starting in a few weeks, it’s expected to get the roadmap of Star Citizen for 2021 sooner or later. The game is only available on PC and you can play it by purchasing one of the available editions from Robert’s Space Industries. The cheapest version of the game costs you almost $45, but you can save $5 until Christmas and get it for $40.
Star Citizen currently is on a completely playable phase with some jobs, quests, starships, and planets available in the game. However, it’s still far behind the ambitious destination that the developers imagine for it.
