King of Cards and Showdown will be completing the Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove package next week. Prior to then, DualShockers caught up with Yacht Club Games to reflect on the game’s development and lengthy post-launch support. While you can expect the full interview tomorrow, David D’Angelo from Yacht Club Games did reveal something surprising to us about Shovel Knight: tons of cheat codes are still going undiscovered.
“Yes- there are probably hundreds of cheats that haven’t been discovered,” D’Angelo responded when asked about Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove secrets. While something like the X&BUTT code that turns most nouns into the word butt was discovered fairly quickly after launch, some helpful cheats are still undiscovered. Yacht Club Games was kind enough to share one of these cheats with DualShockers: M&DASH
Dubbed “Running Knight” by the developers, this cheat allows players to run after simply double-tapping the direction they want to move in. This cheat will, of course, allow players to get through the game faster and even make some jumps that players aren’t normally intended to. DualShockers Contributor Max Roberts recorded some footage of the cheat code in action, and you can see how it compares to the normal movement speed in the video below:
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, which will net players everything from the original Shovel of Hope campaign to next week’s additions, is available for 3DS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One and Wii U. You can pick up the whole package right now on Amazon and, as I mentioned, DualShockers’ full interview with Yacht Club Games’ David D’Angelo will be going live tomorrow.
