You can now play as Nier: Automata’s lovely protagonist 2B in FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice with the power of PC mods. The character skin itself is absolutely awesome for hardcore fans of Yoko Taro’s hack-and-slash RPG. The mod is available now via Nexus Mods, and it was created by user asasasasasbc a.k.a. Forsakensilver.
2B comes with her katana weapons from Nier: Automata. Unfortunately, the character skin does not come with any voiceover, but players can download a female sound pack to go along with this one. If you’re not super comfortable with installing mods on your own, there’s a handy guide provided on the download page so follow it accordingly. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice launched earlier this year on March 22, we gave it a remarkable 9 out 10. The game is the latest Souls-like from FromSoftware, the studio that built the genre with titles like Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls. It’s wildly different from all of their previous titles as far as gameplay mechanics go, and with it being the fastest Souls-like to date, 2B seems like the perfect fit for the game.
Nier: Automata launched in 2017, and has gained a considerable following since then. Square Enix just released a new video celebrating the title reaching over 4 million copies sold worldwide. We interviewed the director of the game, Yoko Taro, back in 2018 at PAX East. If you haven’t played Nier: Automata yet, now would be a great time with the release of the Game of the YoRHa Edition. While this is mod is a fan project, 2B actually also made an official guest appearance in Bandai Namco’s Soulcalibur VI a few months ago.
