Yesterday marked the start of Season Two for Overkill Software and Starbreeze Studios’ Overkill’s The Walking Dead. The trailer is available below, and there’s also a video guide on how to survive should you need it.
Season Two of Overkill’s The Walking Dead is already included for players who own the standard and deluxe editions of the game, and also marks the first major content update. The story follows on from the events of Season One and also includes an improved tutorial for new players.
The first episode is titled “No Sanctuary” and throws you into new challenges with a powerful new enemy sitting comfy on Washington D.C.’s Capitol Hill. Your first mission finds you taking part in a raid on a church to rescue an informant that could save your life. There are going to be nine episodes in total arriving to Overkill’s The Walking Dead which will range from November 2018 – June 2019 and will introduce not only new missions, but playable characters, weapons, modes, and more.
Overkill Software has taken player feedback on board to improve Overkill’s The Walking Dead with new features. One of these features is something I was surprised wasn’t included at launch and highlighted it in my review, in-game voice chat. Players can now use this in-game voice chat system with the Steam version of the game. The game files have also be restructured to allow the development team to update the game with new content and improvements quicker.
Below you can find the trailer for Season Two’s first episode, and underneath that, you’ll find the video survival guide which explains core mechanics and offers advice to survive.
Before Overkill’s The Walking Dead launched, publisher Starbreeze Studios had expressed that the company’s expectations for the title were high, but earlier this month we saw the publisher having to review their costs after the game sold poorly.
Overkill’s The Walking Dead is available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
