Just a couple of days ago now, the public got their first look at Halo Infinite in action. We saw about 8 minutes of gameplay from only the campaign. The game looked incredibly familiar to longtime Halo fans and it looks like the return to form the series needs. However, we only got a short glimpse at the campaign. There was no word on the multiplayer. A rumor began to circulate from an “insider” claiming a source informed them that the multiplayer will be delayed. However, Brain Jarrad, Community Director at 343, has already squashed the rumor claiming that it is not true.

Brian commented on a tweet, claiming that the multiplayer would be delayed, which has now been deleted. He simply stated: “Nothing to see here folks, this is not true.”

The rumor was always far fetched. For this game to launch without multiplayer, so many things would have had to go wrong with the game’s development for that to happen. It can be argued that the multiplayer mode for a Halo title is much more important than the campaign. That is probably up to personal preference though. On top of that, if you go back and look at how much money Microsoft is putting into this game, there is absolutely no way that they would allow it to release without multiplayer.

Halo Infinite is shaping up to evoke those same emotions and experiences we had from player Combat Evolved for the first time. 343 has noted that this game is a spiritual reboot for the franchise. One that is probably much needed. Halo 4 was a good game, but none of the newly introduced enemies or narrative directions seemed to stick. Don’t even get me started on Halo 5. I hope this return to form can help 343 finally stick the landing.

Halo Infinite is set to release alongside the launch of the Xbox Series X and PC later this holiday season.
