Rugby 18 Receives its First Developer Diary; Coming to PC and Consoles October 27

Eko Software, Bigben Interactive, and Maximum Games released a developer diary for their upcoming sports game Rugby 18 today that delves into various aspects of the game’s development, including initial goals, collecting players, creating the audience within each stadium, and animation. They also confirmed that the game will be releasing on October 27.

From the start, the developers wanted the game to feel authentic, which led to them creating a new and unique gameplay system for Rugby 18. Data and stats wise, the developers worked with official data from the different Championships to make each player feel similar to how they are in real life.

One of the teams biggest technical challenges was created the audience within each stadium, who wear unique shirts and wave special banners depending on what team they support. They will also sometimes do the wave during matches. They also spent a lot of time on animation, using motion capture to make sure each players’ moves are authentic to the game.

For those who don’t know, Rugby 18 is rugby game that features most of the Northern Hemisphere rugby clubs and players. There are a lot of choices for players to make each matches;this include having varied phases where players the ability to learn and refine technical skills in the game. There will be over 2,000 professional rugby players from the 2017-2018 season  in Rugby 18.
