Resident Evil: Village is on track to release later this year, and notably, the series’ eighth installment is going to take things in a very different direction with vampires, werewolves, and (likely) some other monsters in store. After the game was officially revealed last year, Capcom is finally about to give a much closer look at the upcoming title with a whole showcase dedicated to all things Resident Evil, including Village and several other announcements.
As announced last week, Capcom is hosting the Resident Evil Showcase today to give a closer look at the series’ next main installment, Resident Evil: Village, alongside other surprises. One of those seems to be Resident Evil Re:Verse, which presumably will be the multiplayer component that will be included with Village, but we’ll have to wait and see if there are any other announcements in store as well.
You can check out the official livestream for the Resident Evil Showcase below, which will kick off at 2pm PT/5pm ET:
Last week’s teaser for the showcase gave us a couple quick glimpses of what’s in store from Village, including a look at the very attractive and tall vampire lady that has set gaming Twitter on fire in the past week. However, the actual showcase will likely give us a much more extensive look at gameplay and some of the new features (and monsters) that we’ll encounter in the series’ eighth mainline installment, which picks up directly after the events of 2017’s Resident Evil VII: Biohazard.
So far we know that the showcase will last for about 20 minutes and will be hosted by What’s Good Games‘ Brittney Brombacher, and for Resident Evil fans, it should be an exciting look at what’s in store for the franchise’s future.
Resident Evil: Village will release for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2021.
