After a bit of a delay, the Resident Evil Resistance Open Beta now can be played on all platforms for free until April 3.
Capcom’s Resident Evil Resistance, the multiplayer part for Resident Evil 3 remake, was supposed to be available a few days earlier in open beta phase. However, due to technical issues, the development team had to delay the PS4 and PC versions of the beta while the Xbox One edition was out on the scheduled date. Now, the Resident Evil Resistance Open Beta is available across all three platforms. If there are any problems with the matchmaking system, you can report it to developers who will tackle the issues.
Resident Evil Resistance, which seemed to be a standalone game at first, is a 4v1 multiplayer mode. One of the players will take the role of the antagonist who spawns deadly zombies in the various locations on the map to avoid the other team from reaching the escaping point. On the side of the survivors, you and your teammates are tasked to cooperate and try different paths to find the way escape the antagonist’s traps.
Aside from its original characters, Resident Evil Resistance will feature some famous Resident Evil personalities as well in both the Mastermind and Survivors sides. Seven playable characters for Survivors and four playable Masterminds will be available at launch with 2 different maps.
Resident Evil 3 remake is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can check out our review of the game where Ricky Frech said, “I would absolutely recommend Resident Evil 3 and would not be surprised if a sizable portion of the fandom ends up preferring this remake.” You can also check out our review discussion where the review Frech, Managing Editor Logan Moore, and Video Editor Mario Rivera discussed their thoughts on Jill Valentine’s haunting adventure.
