Being one of the most highly-anticipated fall releases of the year, Red Dead Redemption 2 certainly has a lot to live up to from its acclaimed predecessor, and after several cinematic trailers, today we got our first look at how the game plays.
As announced yesterday, Rockstar Games released the first gameplay video for the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2, giving viewers a more in-depth look at the gameplay that we can expect from the eagerly-awaited sequel.
In short, the gameplay video gives viewers an up close look at how Rockstar is aiming to create “a living world” that is detailed, interactive, and combines action with storytelling and gameplay. With the video showing over six minutes of gameplay, there’s certainly a ton to unpack from Rockstar’s next epic in the making.
While this new video gives an in-depth look at some of the depth and detail that Rockstar is poring into the open world of Red Dead Redemption 2, such as exploration, horseback riding, and interacting with NPCs, the studio also detailed that more gameplay videos will be on the way up to release to break down other features of the game, including the return of the Dead Eye system.
With the game now just a few months away, anticipation is certainly building for the game as new art and advertising has begun popping up in various locations to promote the game, while publisher Take Two Interactive is hoping that the long-awaited sequel will “shatter expectations” for those looking to play it this October.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will release for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26th, 2018. If you have yet to pick up a copy of the game, there’s still time to pre-order the game on Amazon ahead of its release this fall.
