Ever wish that you could do some hardcore gaming while you sleep? Well, wish no longer.
In what is perhaps the strangest announcement to come out of today’s Pokemon Press Conference, The Pokemon Company unveiled Pokemon Sleep. The new app, which is set to release next year in 2020 and will track your sleeping habits.
After setting the world on fire back in 2016 with Pokemon Go, The Pokemon Company says it looked to the realm of sleep for its next project. This resulted in Pokemon Sleep, which is said to offer “a gameplay experience unlike any other!”
Information so far is equal parts confusing and just downright strange, but it seems as though Pokemon Sleep will work as a typical sleep tracking app. The Pokemon Company says it wants to give you a reason to look forward to waking up every morning. I guess having potential rewards waiting for you on your phone is as good of an incentive as any to roll your lazy ass out of bed every day.
I still don’t really know what Pokemon Sleep is but, uhh, please be excited, I guess? Maybe once we see more of how this app is supposed to work we’ll have a better idea of what to look forward to, but for right now, I’m personally left just scratching my head.
We’re pleased to announce the development of Pokémon Sleep, a new app from @Pokemon_cojp that tracks a user’s time sleeping and brings a gameplay experience unlike any other!
