Announced during the 2020 Pokemon Direct, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX was announced. It will be launching on March 6, 2020, for Nintendo Switch.
The reveal began by showing the beginning moments of the original Pokemon Mystery Dungeon for the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance from 2006. We then fast forward to 2020, where the original left off. Sporting a storybook art style, the newest iteration will bring a plethora of Pokemon from past generations into the new adventure. You can check out the trailer below.
Similar to the original and exemplified in the trailer, when the player first opens their eyes, they realize they can understand what Pokemon are saying. But then they come to the realization that they can only understand because they have become a Pokemon themselves. Players will answer a few questions during the opening portions of the game, and then decide on who their partner will be. There is a pool of 16 different Pokemon to choose from when deciding on who the main character and partner will be.
You will be able to pre-purchase the game on the Nintendo eShop later today. If you just cannot wait to play the newest iteration of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, you are in luck. A demo will also be available via the Nintendo eShop later today.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is the first Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game to launch for the Nintendo Switch. The last entry, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, launched back in 2015 for the Nintendo 3DS.
As mentioned, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX will launch on March 6, 2020, for the Nintendo Switch. Plenty of Pokemon news was revealed during the 2020 Pokemon Direct. This includes a new expansion pass that will add new regions to Pokemon Sword and Shield. This will bring back Pokemon from past generations, as well as introduce some new ones.
