In a week sparse with new releases, the latest entry in the Pokemon series has bested the competition in the UK.
Upon launching this past Friday, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX has taken home the top position on the weekly UK sales chart. Historically, the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series has never lit up the sales charts, so it has to be encouraging for Nintendo to see the latest entry in the series doing so well out of the gate. Not to mention, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX was simply a remake of the first entries in the series. For a remake of a nearly 15-year-old title to do so well is quite a good sign.
Outside of Pokemon’s debut this week, there wasn’t anything worth noting outside of what we’ve come to expect in the past. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is once again finding itself in the second position while the ever-successful Grand Theft Auto V is in third. Rounding out the top five is that of FIFA 20 and The Division 2, which just had a new expansion launch last week. All in all, it’s a pretty standard week on the UK sales chart outside of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon’s debut.
