It’s been an exceptionally busy year for the mobile app Pokémon Go. Not only has the game seen a resurgence in popularity during the summer, but it has also seen the long-awaited arrival of player versus player battles. With 2018 all but wrapped up, it’s time to look forward to what next year has to offer, and Pokémon trainers will be thrilled to know that they can already add 2019’s first Community Day to their calendars.
Pokémon Go Community Days are monthly events which encourage trainers to gather together in public and engage in the game for the chance to catch rare pokémon or ones which unusual move sets. There are also opportunities to earn special bonuses along the way.
January’s Community Day is based around classic water type Totodile. The adorable starter from Pokémon: Gold Version and Pokémon: Silver Version will be available in the wild for a short time and can be found packing a yet undisclosed exclusive move.
The event will run from 10 am until 1 pm (GMT) on January 12, 2019.
Pokémon Go is available now on iOS and Android. The free title can also be used in conjunction with the immensely popular Switch titles Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Each of which can currently be purchased via Amazon.
