After teasing their coming arrival last week, Niantic has today announced that the fourth generation of Pokemon from the Sinnoh region will begin appearing in Pokemon Go this week.
The Pokemon associated with Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum will begin appearing soon in a location near you over the coming days. Niantic says that they will be staggering out these new additions to the game in waves over the coming weeks so don’t expect to be able to find every single Sinnoh region Pokemon beginning today. The developer’s statement also says they’ll have more news on additional features and forthcoming content soon.
In addition, to announcing that Gen 4 is now in Pokemon Go, Niantic also released a new trailer promoting this new update. I’ve always really liked these CG and real-world hybrid trailer for Pokemon Go and this one is just as cool. You can find it down below if you’d like to watch it.
Personally, I always thought the designs of many of the Pokemon found in the fourth gen were great, even though Diamond and Pearl happen to be some of my least favorite entries in the series. I haven’t played Pokemon Go myself in a hot minute, but this might actually get me back to wandering around my own city.
