Yesterday, gamers around the world tuned in to PlayStation 5’s long-awaiting upcoming games and console reveal. The hour-long lined-up consisted of brand new PS5 exclusives, first-party games, and of course, the console itself which has divided players on how it looks. Regardless of your opinion on whether you think the PS5 looks like a brilliantly designed piece of kit or some tech-heavy WIFI router, it’s the next generation of PlayStation’s games and by the looks of it, these said games look incredible. As we start to become accustomed to the future of gaming, artist and virtual photographer OBlackThunderO has created some of PlayStation’s most iconic characters in an amazing fan art display.
Many people will know of at least one piece of BlackThunder’s fan art, most notably for their love of God of War. This time, however, they have encapsulated PlayStation’s most recognizable gaming characters into one amazingly colorful work of art. Thunder sets the scene for this particular fan art with PlayStation’s iconic blue and purple hue as the backdrop surrounded by a wonderful array of stars. The world is the stage upon which our most beloved characters stand including the likes of God of War’s Kratos and son Atreus, Uncharted‘s Nathan Drake, Lost Legacy‘s Chloe and Nadine, Horizon Zero Dawn‘s Aloy, Ellie and Joel from The Last of Us Part II, Ratchet & Clank, and many many more. Can you find them all?
You can check out more of BlackThunder’s fan art over on their Twitter or Instagram.
If you’d like to check out some other fantastic fan art pieces, Leo Huang an artist and indie game developer, crafted a wonderful illustration of the mighty lone wolf Geralt of Rivia and adopted daughter, Princess Ciri. For something a little different, Chris Hawtin, a 24-year-old graphic designer, and writer who loves to put together motion posters for games that include The Last of Us Part II, created an incredible Ghost of Tsushima motion poster in honor of the wandering samurai, Jin. To witness God of War‘s Atreus as a fully grown man, Sam Yang, who does a bunch of brilliant digital paintings, captured him in his amazing concept art display.
The PS5 and DualSense controller are expected to arrive at some stage in the holiday of 2020. No firm release window or price point for the system was revealed just yet, but stay tuned for more information as we get closer to its launch.
