The Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle “Version 2.0” update is just a few short weeks away, and the folks at Arc System Works keep dolling out character introductions to maintain the hype. We’ve seen Neo Polititan from RWBY, and today we get a closer look at some Persona favorites. Both Elizabeth and Adachi have received new trailers. Check them out below.
Elizabeth originates from Persona 3, and Adachi from Persona 4. However, both of these characters appeared in the fighting game based on the Persona franchise: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. As such, the moves they exhibit in these trailers will look quite familiar to veterans of that game.
Both trailers are fairly detailed, providing characterization as well as gameplay description. Elizabeth’s, for example, refers to her as “the Lethal Elevator Attendant” and “a former denizen of the mysterious ‘Velvet Room.’” The trailer also tells us that by using her persona, Thanatos, Elizabeth can “lock down opponents from medium and long range.” Adachi receives similar treatment.
In total, Version 2.0 of Cross Tag will include nine new characters. On November 21, Yumi, Neo Politan, Akatsuki and Blitztank will become playable. The rest of the new characters–Elizabeth, Adachi, Susanoo, Celica, and Hilda–will release at a later date.
Arc Sytem Works makes great games, and they have a habit of providing a lot of great, extra content for them. Unfortunately, all of that DLC content can cost quite a lot, and Cross Tag is no different. The 2.0 expansion costs $24.99, and it doesn’t include the game’s previously issued DLC. Seven “character packs” have already released for Cross Tag–sold separately, they cost almost $50.
Cross Tag is a lot of fun, though, and the 2.0 update is fairly substantial. In addition to the nine new characters, 2.0 will include a new story scenario, new character interactions, and new colors. If you were waiting for the “right time” to jump into Cross Tag, your wait may finally be over.
The “2.0 Expansion Pack” will release on November 21. Blazblue Cross Tag Battle is currently available on Switch, PS4, and PC.
