Atlus and Koei Tecmo published some new screenshots for Persona 5 Scramble on the game’s official site. Profiles for Joker and new character Sophia were also published. The one for Joker mentions how he’s in his third year of high school, seeing Persona 5 Scramble is a sequel to the original Persona 5. But the profiles overall don’t reveal anything new.
Another interesting thing is the interview with Persona 5 Scramble‘s staff that was included in Famitsu Magazine November 21 issue (released on November 7). The staff most notably mentioned Persona 5 Scramble uses an engine made by Koei Tecmo, and it’s different than the one used in Persona 5 Royal. We also learned the project was born from a proposal coming from Koei Tecmo’s side. As for the game’s story, Koei Tecmo’s writers wrote the initial draft, but then the Persona Team supervised and finished it. The writers from both companies were really into it, so we should look forward to the narration aspect of the game.
The staff also mentioned in the interview that Persona 5 Scramble is balanced so that players will need to fully use the battle system to triumph. The game will also have various difficulty levels to adapt to all players. Lastly, we learned that Persona 5 Scramble‘s BGMs will include both new tracks and rearrangements. They will be handled by three people. We’ve got Atsushi Kitajoh, who works on Shin Megami Tensei and Persona. Gota Masuoka from Sangoku Musou/Dynasty Warriors, and MASA, who also works on Musou games.
Atlus will be regularly pushing out new trailers for Persona 5 Scramble, either introducing a playable character or a location in the game. For now, we have trailers for Joker and Sophia. We covered the first live gameplay shown for the game and translated everything the producer explained about the battle system. We also covered P5S‘s story details and the character profiles for the new characters revealed so far, Sophia, Zenkichi, and Alice. You can also check the various commercials for the game and the first trailer here.
Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers will launch on February 20 in Japan, on PS4 and Switch. The game wasn’t announced in the west yet but will definitely come over. Atlus even did an English restream of the first P5S stream with a virtual youtuber.
