Outriders is an upcoming co-op RPG published by Square Enix. The game was announced in June of 2019 and is being developed by People Can Fly. It mixes third-person shooter and RPG elements to create an engaging sci-fi world. After a couple of delays, the game is scheduled to release on April 1 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia.
Right now, Square Enix has released a demo for the game across all platforms (except Google Stadia) and they have today, February 27, released an update for the demo (Ver. 1.04 on PC/ Ver. 1.004 on PlayStation) – here are details on the demo and all the changes from today’s update.
What is in the demo?
Square and People Can Fly promise that the demo is a demo and not a beta and therefore “will remain available indefinitely.” Not only that, they share that the demo is “the start of the full game.” They share that the demo is around three hours in length, will allow players to trial all classes and data will carry over into the full game.

What is in the Outriders Demo Update?
The Outriders Demo update doesn’t seem to change much on either the PC or PlayStation platforms. While little has been shared about the update, a tweet from the official Outriders Twitter account states that the “will allow us to improve our backend analysis systems used for balancing and issue tracking.” Unfortunately, there seems to be no official patch notes.
The tweet also clarifies the situation for Xbox users who didn’t receive the update today. They share that there’s no need to panic as the Xbox update will be arriving “later next week.”
We are pushing updated builds to PC and PlayStation platforms, with Xbox following on later next week. This will allow us to improve our backend analysis systems used for balancing and issue tracking.
