While March 20 is due to be a day of Animal Crossing New Horizons and DOOM Eternal, there are…some people, some strange beings that reside on this hellish planet that don’t like either of the two. These people probably won’t be interested in the fancy looking Animal Crossing-themed Nintendo Switch either, and that’s okay because Nintendo’s Japanese Twitter has announced a new Nintendo Switch Lite which is Kirby colored.
It’s not officially a Kirby console, but I like to imagine it is. No, the console is a Coral edition that will launch on March 20 and is only available for the mobile edition of the console. Interested customers can get reserving their console from March 7.

This is the newest color to join the Lite family. At current, there is a yellow, gray, and turquoise console. There is also a special edition Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian & Zamazenta edition which is a mixture of pink, blue, and light gray.
There seems to be no indication that the coral console is due to arrive out to the West yet, so it is currently exclusive to Japan for the time being. It’ll cost 19,980 yen plus tax.
The official blog post does bring up the recent production and shipment delays to the Japanese market due to the coronavirus outbreak. “Production of “Nintendo Switch Lite Coral” has been completed by the end of March until the end of March. Production of the three colors (turquoise, gray, and yellow) that have already been released has been completed by the end of March until the end of March.”
When the Nintendo Switch Lite launched, it saw nearly 2 million units sold in only ten days. The Lite version of the Nintendo Switch is a smaller, more portable version of the Nintendo Switch, it cannot be docked, and has integrated controllers that replace the detachable Joy-Cons.
