Fans of the Metroid series were ecstatic when two new games were announced for the franchise at this year’s E3. Today, Nintendo released a new gameplay trailer for Metroid: Samus Returns.
The trailer comes in TV spot format, and provides a look at some gameplay, including both new and revamped features from the original Metroid II: Return of Samus. The footage including puzzles, weapons, armor and abilities. A narrator explains the game’s premise and some of the features that players can expect for Samus’ return.

The game should not only please fans who have been eagerly awaiting a proper Metroid game, but also assure fans of Nintendo that the 3DS is going to continue to be the company’s flagship handheld console.
While Metroid Prime 4 is still a ways away, Metroid: Samus Returns will be available on September 15 for the 3DS.
