It’s been a long wait but the release date for the upcoming installment in the much loved Disney/Square Enix crossover series Kingdom Hearts is dangerously close now. With just over a month to go before the game’s release, the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter page has unloaded a torrent of new screenshots, jam-packed with familiar characters.
Kingdom Hearts 3 continues the adventures of Sora and his companions, many of which are instantly recognizable with Disney classics such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, acting as veterans of the series. The upcoming release will also see characters from relatively new Disney franchises joining the journey including Frozen’s Elsa, the team from Big Hero 6, and old “Ham Hands” himself; Wreck-It Ralph.
The latest barrage of screenshots focuses on a number of characters. Among those showcased are classic mischievous chipmunk duo, Chip and Dale, who can be found in Disney Castle. We also get a glimpse of Sora and Stitch’s link attack which sees Stitch using his lasers to dispatch enemies.
Pinocchio’s colleague Jiminy Cricket is also in the mix, along with Yen Sid from the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. To top it off, we get to see Sora riding on the back of Frozen’s gigantic ice monster; Marshmallow. However, don’t let its cute and cuddly name deceive you, this beast has a mouth brimming with sharp icicles.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is scheduled for release on January 25, 2019, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You can currently pre-order a copy on Amazon.
