Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier’s New Event Is All About Schwarzesmarken

Today DMM launched another event on its mobile action-RPG Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier.

The event is all about Muv-Luv‘s prequel Schwarzesmarken, set in East Germany in 1983, of course, changed according to the franchise’s own timeline. Central Europe is being invaded by the terrifying BETA, while the protagonists have to deal both with the alien threat and with internal conflict generated by the Stasi. The story of the original visual novels is so good that it pains me that they’re only available in Japanese for now.

In any case, the event comes with two SSR units that you can get simply by dropping them in the dedicated missions or with your overall score. Both are Speed-type, and one is a shield-carrying MiG-21 Balalaika TSF mecha, while the other is the charming Oberleutnant Pham Thi Lan.

A gacha is also available, including three Technique-type units, a SSR MiG-23 Cheburashka TSF,  and two pilots, SSR Lise Hohenstein and SR Theodor Eberbach. Unfortunately, this is available only with paid gems, but considering that we’re already getting two SSRs at no cost (plus a SSR ticket), that’s hardly a reason for complaint. Honestly, I don’t know any other free-to-play mobile game that gives players as much free stuff as regularly as this one.

You can check the new units below, and keep in mind that the second part of the Attack on Titan crossover event is still going on for a few days. In other Muv-Luv news, publisher Ixtl just announced a partnership with PQube to bring the PS Vita version of the original Muv-Luv and Muv Luv Alternative visual novels to the west, while the PC version should be returning to Steam this month.

Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier is currently available in Japan for iOS, Android, and browsers.
