If you like the Waifu+Mecha combination, pretty much no franchise is better than Muv-Luv, and following the announcement that Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier was going to get a Google App and an iOS version this month, today we finally got the actual release date.
Those who would like to play on Apple’s phones and on their PC without having to use the slightly unwieldy browser version will have to wait just one more week, as the two ports will launch on next week January 18th.
As usual, the game will be only in Japanese, but it’s easy to enjoy it without really knowing the language, and I’ll probably write one of my handy guides after the release of the new platforms.
In other related news, today the game received a new event titled Final Battle in the Extreme North – Unknown –, which is all about Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse. This lets me see Fikatsia Latrova in action once more, so that puts quite the smile on my face.
The event will reward those who will grind the fairly challenging special missions with two different SSR Speed-type TFS mechas. We get the XFJ-01a Shiranui Second Phase 3 Unit 1 armed with a sword, and the Su-37 M2 Terminator (Blue Camo) armed with machine guns.
Special themed gacha have also been implemented featuring Technique Inia Sistina, Yuya Bridges, Cryska Barchenowa, and Yui Takamura, even if only Inia and Yuya are available with gems. The second part of the New Year Gacha was also launched, featuring kimono-clad Irisdina Bernhard and Yuzuka Sendou. You can see them all at the bottom of the post.
Incidentally, we recently reported that the game will get an Attack on Titan crossover next month, even if details are scarce.
Muv-Luv Alternative: Strike Frontier is currently available only for Android and on browsers.
