Today, NetherRealm Studios teased Mortal Kombat 11 story DLC which looks to continue the game’s time-traveling tale from where it left off.
In a tweet from the Mortal Kombat Twitter account, a video featuring Thunder Fire God Liu Kang and young Raiden about to create a new, prosperous universe after the events of Mortal Kombat 11‘s campaign. However, a fire portal appears bringing Shang Tsung and two other shadowy figures to the hourglass. The video ends with the phrase “the epic saga continues.”

You won’t have to wait long to know more. The full reveal for the Mortal Kombat 11 story DLC will happen tomorrow, May 6, at 6 am PT.
There are a few questions that I have that will presumably be answered when the reveal happens tomorrow morning. The one I’m most interested in knowing is who the other two characters are walking with Shang Tsung. Looking at some of the replies, it seems certain that one of them is Nightwolf. The second is a bit harder to determine, but some are predicting Sindel.
Which brings me to another questing: Will this DLC bring new playable characters to Mortal Kombat 11? Mileena has been requested so much, it has become a meme at this point. Fujin and Sheeva have been rumored for awhile too. I guess we’ll know everything after the reveal tomorrow.
Personally, I am incredibly excited about Mortal Kombat 11 to continue its bombastic story. It will be interesting to see how NetherRealm Studios furthers this ridiculous tale. Also, it gives me a reason to go back to my favorite fighting game this generation. I used to play a few matches every day but I’ve fallen off, and kind of afraid to get mutilated online. But I would love to play a few matches and watch whatever time traveling weirdness happens in this DLC.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, and Stadia. You can check out my review where I said, “Whether you’re a long-time kombatant or new to the series, Mortal Kombat 11 is a bloody blast.”
