Today Capcom announced via press release that its upcoming mainline title of the Monster Hunter franchise, Monster Hunter World, will be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2017.
The game will be available on PS4 at Capcom’s own booth, even if we don’t know if it’ll be the same demo that we have seen so far, or a different one.
On top of that, we learn that the Nintendo Switch version of Monster Hunter XX and Street Fighter V will be featured on the eSports stage. A tournament of Monster Hunter XX will see four teams battling monsters for victory, which will be decided by the speed in which they’ll be able to slay their prey.
For Street Fighter V, we’ll get the Shoryuken tournament, which will pitch eight top players pitched against each other for a prize pool of 1 million yen.
If you want to see what Monster Hunter World looks like, you can enjoy a recent gameplay video, a series of trailers showcasing all fourteen weapons included in the game, the full recording of the San Diego Comic Con panel with a lot of info and footage, the announcement trailer, the first screenshots, and some really impressive direct feed gameplay.
Monster Hunter World will launch in early 2018 (before March 31st, to be a bit more precise) for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release following at a later time. Keep in mind that it will be PS4 exclusive in Japan.
Tokyo Game Show will open its gates on September 21st at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, near Tokyo, and it will end on September 24th. Of course DualShockers will be treading the show floor, ready to report on any news.
