To kick off today’s edition of PlayStation’s State of Play, Capcom shared some new information about the future of Monster Hunter: World.
In a sequence of new footage, Capcom unveiled Iceborne, a new expansion that will soon be coming to Monster Hunter: World. As you can likely infer from the title of the expansion, Iceborne will be taking hunters to a new snowy locale that is ripe with all kinds of new monsters to do battle against. A new storyline will also be told in this new region of the game.
From the small glimpse that we’ve seen of Iceborne so far, this looks to be the largest piece of add-on content that Monster Hunter: World has received since launching back in 2018. If you’ve been starving for a hefty new piece of content, this looks like it should keep you satiated for quite awhile.
Capcom also announced that Iceborne is set to arrive in Monster Hunter: World later this year on September 6, 2019. However, this release of the expansion will only be available on PS4 and Xbox One at first. If you’re a PC player of the game, Capcom says that Iceborne will arrive later this winter.
And you’re reading this article as it goes live, Capcom is actually set to talk about Iceborne a whole lot more as part of its spring update for Monster Hunter: World. If you’d like to learn more, you can find the live stream below.
