According to the latest news from the official website of Microsoft Flight Simulator, the game’s closed beta testing will be kicking off on July 30. All the players who have received the code for the Alpha version will be able to take part in the closed beta phase as well.
Revealed during Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference, Microsoft Flight Simulator is one of the biggest cross-gen projects by Asobo Studio that will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC whenever it’s ready. As a reboot of the whole series, the new Flight Simulator title is going to be one of the ground-breaking games of history, featuring all of the airports of the world along with lots of different and highly detailed airplanes to fly with.
Microsoft hasn’t announced any release window for Flight Simulator yet, but their upcoming showcase on July 23rd might reveal the game’s release date or at least unveil its first official gameplay footage on Xbox Series X.
Asobo Studio, the team behind Microsoft Flight Simulator, is mostly known for its recent single-player story-driven title, A Plague Tale: Innocence. However, their current project seems to be a whole different thing compared to all the works they’ve done before. Visually, Microsoft Flight Simulator features too many high-quality textures that if you decide to play it on the highest preset you will need to have a quite fast internet connection with a cutting-edge PC to download and process the additional textures just in time.
If you were selected for alpha testing of the game, you will be definitely getting a code for closed beta as well. However, Microsoft will be sending out more codes to the players who have already signed up for the closed beta, so you’d better keep an eye out for your email inbox in the upcoming days.
