The Game Awards, which returns for its fourth annual broadcast this coming Thursday, will not only recognize the best that 2017 has had to offer from a stellar year of games, but will offer a sneak peek at what’s to come from the new titles arriving next year and beyond.
The Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley revealed (as part of a series of teasers leading up to Thursday’s broadcast of The Game Awards) that Metro: Exodus will be among the lineup of titles to be showcased at the upcoming event, with a new trailer (or possibly new gameplay) to be shown from the series’ third installment this week.
Metro: Exodus will follow the events of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, and was officially unveiled earlier this year at Microsoft’s press conference during E3 2018. Based on the Metro series of novels by author Dmitry Glukhovsky, Exodus combines the survival horror, stealth, and first-person shooter aspects of the previous two titles while also providing players with (what seem to be) more open-ended levels where players can experiment and take on challenges to their own liking.
Metro: Exodus is set to release sometime in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but we’ll get another look at the title during The Game Awards broadcast on Thursday, December 7th, 2017 at 5:30pm PT/8:30pm ET.
