As one of the most anticipated titles of the beginning of the year, Metro Exodus is showing fans of the acclaimed shooter series a new side of its world by bringing players out of the metro and into a much larger world. Given the expanded scope of the latest entry of the series, it’s clear that developer 4A Games is also pushing what players will experience from the game after revealing the official PC specs for the game a few weeks before launch.
Over on the official Metro Exodus website, 4A Games has revealed the full range of PC specs for players to customize their rigs before the game lands, starting with the baseline minimum specs to be able to play the game at 1080p/30fps, and all the way up to running it at 4K/60fps.
While the minimum specs are within reach for lower-end systems to run Metro Exodus, it’s clear that you’ll need some beefy hardware to run the game beyond 1080p/60fps for most machines, as reaching 4K/60fps will require a top of the line card to even reach it, such as an RTX 2080 Ti (or equivalent) GPU.
However, given that the Metro Redux collection that released a few years ago with the first two titles in the series were a serious test of many PC hardware configurations, it was a given that 4A Games would try to push those boundaries even further with Metro Exodus.
From what we recently played of the game during a preview, it’s clear that 4A Games is really putting all that horsepower to good use in Metro Exodus, as the game is bringing a pseudo open-world feel to the series for the first time and introducing a larger variety of environments. As the game will shift between wide-open areas like the Caspian Desert, to the traditional metro tunnels that have defined the series, we’ll surely get one of the series’ best-looking games when it lands on consoles and PC next month.
Metro Exodus will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 15, 2019. For a closer look at what you’ll need for your rig to run the upcoming shooter, you can look at the official specs down below:
