Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you don’t have the tools to make art. As living proof of that statement, professional comic artist Patrick Mulholland has made his own Spider-Man pages, using the Photo Mode on the PS4 exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man. And while there are many fan creations floating around, this is easily some of the most interesting and (hopefully) a new trend.
The news comes from Twitter, with Mulholland sharing his creation using the newly-revealed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse costume:

The comic, which you can also catch in the gallery below, shows Spidey web-slinging in chase of some drive-by criminals. Eventually Spider-Man grabs the car, knocks out the criminals, and ultimately saves the day.
While the comic above is all done in a more classic art style for the comic, Mulholland also experimented. In his follow-up page, we see a different color scheme and interesting layout that really brings the comic book “feel” to life:

Even better, the fan project was noticed by developer Insomniac Games. In response, they called the content “awesome” and that they “hoped to see people trying to do things like this!”
This is awesome! We had hoped to see people trying to do things like this! https://t.co/P3PBbzBeVl

Which isn’t to say that people aren’t. In fact, we have definitely seen a recent boom in user-created content since the free holiday release of the (much requested) Sam Raimi costume from the 2002 movies. In fact, we had our own fun with the new suit, making a quick video of us swinging to the Danny Elfman theme in the PS4 superhero title.
If you haven’t heard of Mulholland before this story, he is an artist and writer on the comic book Zero Jumper by Alterna. You can feel free to check out his original comic work on that project.
Marvel’s Spider-Man is exclusively available on PS4, though the Raimi suit is a free DLC. If you are looking to swing into one of the best PS4 games of 2018, you can grab a codefrom Amazon now. Meanwhile, check out the comic and extra page below:
