Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness details
Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness is a single player 3D action RPG, coming worldwide in 2022. A physical version will also be published in Europe by Numskull Games.
The Made in Abyss Action RPG will include both a Story mode retracing the anime, and a brand new original story written for the occasion, and supervised by original mangaka Akihito Tsukushi. The game will be fully voiced, with the same seiyuu (voice actors and actresses) as in the anime.
The original story of MIAbyss Binary Star Falling into Darkness takes place several days after Riko and Reg depart for the Abyss, focusing on a nameless Cave Raider. Multiple screenshots were released as well. A teaser site was opened.
Why is Made in Abyss rated 18+
Moreover, the Japanese press release for the Made in Abyss action RPG specifies the game has been rated Cero Z, 18 +. That’s an obvious rating if you know about the series.
If you’ve never seen or read Made in Abyss, let’s just say to avoid spoilers that it’s a typical example of how you shouldn’t judge Japanese media by its cover. And you’re missing out if you’re still thinking anime or something that looks cute is necessarily for kids. On the opposite, you’re also missing out if you believe all kids oriented anime are shallow and only made to sell toys.

More on Made in Abyss
Made in Abyss is originally a manga written and illustrated by Akihito Tsukushi since 2012, with 9 volumes so far. A TV anime adaptation happened in 2017, and a movie was also launched in 2020. More anime is coming too.
Akihito Tsukushi has a very early to recognize, distinct cute artstyle and chara design which looks to be pretty well recreated within the game.
