All of the Stories from the Outlands shorts the team at Respawn has put together have been pretty great. However, the latest Apex Legends short is, for my money, the best one they’ve done thus far. The noir-themed trailer features everyone’s favorite robot Pathfinder and a new character named Victor Maldera. Check it out below.
This video sheds some light on what Pathfinder was getting up to before hopping into the Apex Games. If you guessed that the robot was a waiter/assassin, then congratulations on being a psychic. Victor, for his part, is chasing after Nox, who Apex Legends‘ fans know as Caustic. It’s a noir-drenched thriller that also gives us a bit of insight into other characters.
I won’t spoil it for you here as the video is only seven minutes long. However, it’s worth noting that this is must-watch footage for anyone curious about the greater mysteries of Apex. And, if nothing else, this just makes me want a full-length Apex film in this same visual style. It really is sharp.
Apex Legends is currently wrapping up the final few days of its annual Holo-Day Bash event. You have until January 4 to hop in and grab those cosmetics. Plus, Respawn is about to kick off the winter season of their eSports league. The Apex Legends Global Series starts back up again on January 15.
