Following the game’s Closed Beta Test in November 2018, Chinese company Zlongame announced that the English international version of Langrisser Mobile will launch on January 22 for iOS and Android. Pre-registrations for the game are currently open on the official site.
Langrisser Mobile first released on the Chinese mobile market on August 2018. The game is a tactical RPG, with over 300 different levels, and includes characters from multiple Langrisser games, mostly Langrisser I, II and III. It features music by series’ traditional compositor Noriyuki Iwadare. The game’s character designs were handled by an uncredited artist(s), but are quite well done, being faithful to the original designs of Satoshi Urushihara, while giving them a more modern feel for younger players. The game is also full of Japanese veteran voice actresses and actors, with a much more gorgeous cast list than the Langrisser I&II remake. To get an idea of how the game works and looks, and judge if it’s your cup of tea, a gameplay trailer is included below.
Meanwhile, as we already reported, Langrisser I & II for Nintendo Switch was delayed in Japan from February 7 to April 18. To make up for it, a demo will be releasing soon. The game’s full cast-list was revealed as well. Lastly, the contents of the limited edition, and shop specific pre-order bonuses, have all been revealed, and some are straight up adults-only goods with NSFW illustrations by Satoshi Urushihara, the franchise’s traditional character designer. Langrisser I & II will feature character designs by Ar Tonelico’s Ryou Nagi, but Urushihara’s designs can be obtained via a paid DLC, early print copies of the game or in its limited editions. You can read all about all of this in detail in our previous article.
We don’t know if Langrisser I &II will be coming west yet, like Langrisser Mobile, but it would be great if it did. Together with the mobile game, we could witness a full revival for the franchise both in and outside Japan.
