It will be one whole year next month since God of War burst onto the PlayStation 4 and since its release, we haven’t been able to stop talking about it in one form or another. There’s a very good reason for that since it’s an absolutely amazing title by the genius development team over at Sony Santa Monica – I, for one, am still playing it at the weekends when I have a spare couple of hours and I’m in no rush to complete it due to its spellbinding narrative story.
Somewhere else that loves a bit of Kratos action is the hit American trivia show Jeopardy where we see a contestant get given a God of War question which saw the host Alex Trebek asking “Of the game ‘God of War’ who defies deities?”. Now, we have been here before where gaming questions have been asked on Jeopardy and have gone terribly wrong – remember the “This video game character is blue, collects rings, and goes fast” question? The response to that was hilarious with one contestant answering “Who is Dankey Kang?” and the other replying “Who is Princess Zorldo?”
Thank the gods that this time the contestant knew the answer without seemingly having to think too hard about it – that right there folks, is the power of God of War, that is how you know you’ve made it as a gaming studio. I’m hopeful that the Jeopardy player knew this because he was such a big gamer, but whatever the reason he, of course, answered it with a confident “Kratos”. Fist pump to that guy!
Ummm cool! Hey @corybarlog, ya made it now, kid! #godofwar #kratos @Jeopardy @SonySantaMonica pic.twitter.com/xBMzhtx9I1

Sony Santa Monica and Cory Barlog, like proud parents, responded in a way that only they could. I think it suffices to say they were extremely proud of this moment.
Who is “Kratos”
There is no greater line to honor our #godofwar, thank you @Jeopardy, lifetime achievement

The correct @Jeopardy format when asked who Kratos is would be “What is, the God of War”, followed by the host responding accordingly, “Well done, BOI”

This question could have sounded completely different since God of War was originally going to be called something different like ‘Dark Odyssey’ or ‘At the Hands of the Gods’, but I think we are all thankful that the studio kept with God of War – I can’t personally imagine it being called anything else nor would I want it to be.
God of War is available now exclusively on PS4. If you have yet to experience the game for yourself, you can pick it up on Amazon right now.
