We’re now at the launch of one of the more interesting competitive games to release in the last few years.
Knockout City joins the likes of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout in taking the online multiplayer genre and flipping it on its head.
The title sees solo players or teams come head to head with their opposition in a fearsome dodgeball, or dodgebrawl, match.
As with most online games these days, Knockout City, is planned to have a long life-cycle ahead of it. So much so that the game’s developers Velan Studios has shared a detailed roadmap of what’s to come.
What’s Coming at Launch and in Season 1?
At launch, players will have access to the hideout mode, in which they and their crew can practice the game.
Alongside that, there will be five maps to compete on and six very different balls to use.
Players will be able to level up their “Street Rank”, which is effectively the game’s battlepass, in up to four playlists, including the likes of Diamond Dash.
Following the launch, Knockout City will enter Season 1.
Season 1 kicks off on May 25 and brings with it another whole new map, league play, special season contracts, weekly crew contracts and another brand new playlist.
During the course of Season 1, Knockout City will gain a grand total of seven new playlists, more contracts and some “Mid-Season Events”.
What’s in the Rest of the Knockout City Roadmap?
As stated, Velan Studios has grand ambitions for their dodgebrawl title.
They’ve confirmed that future seasons will add:
- Unique Themes
- New Maps
- New Special Balls
- New Playlists
- New Events
- New Contracts
- New Cosmetics
- More Surprises
It seems like it could be worth getting in on the ground floor with this one, should their roadmap remain consistent.
