Kadokawa Games announced Project Europa for mobile at the “Kadokawa Games Fan Dai Kanshasai 2018” event today. The game is a space-themed mecha RPG and the successor of Starly Girls, a mobile game from Kadokawa Games. Project Europa‘s game design will be an “evolved” version of Starly Girls‘.
Project Europa‘s story starts when a mysterious transmission is received from Europa, Jupiter’s second satellite. The story will revolve around “the battle which will reveal the mystery of the stars”. According to Kadokawa Games’ president Yoshimi Yasuda, Project Europa will include many returning mecha female pilots from Starly Girls.
Starly Girls was first released for iOS and Android in Japan in 2016, but the game ended up closing down in July 2018. A console version is coming to replace it, and more information about it was revealed at the event as well. The console successor of Starly Girls is tentatively named “Project Stella“.
Project Stella‘s story will be a prequel to Starly Girls’, like an “Episode 0”. The game will have much better graphics than Starly Girls. Project Stella’s platforms are still a mystery though. You can find 2 work in progress screenshots of Project Stella and some concept art for Project Europa in the gallery below.
More details on Project Europa and Project Stella will be revealed at a later date.
