The XM4 Assault Rifle from Black Ops Cold War is making strides again in the world of Warzone after a recent buff. At the end of June a new patch went live in Warzone with some weapon balances, including a change to the XM4.
This change reportedly ‘smoothed the recoil’ of the XM4 Assault Rifle, according to the official patch notes. Following this new buff, JGOD shared his personal recommendation for the best XM4 Loadout for Warzone Season 4.

JGOD Shares Best Long-Range XM4 Loadout For Warzone
In a new Warzone update deployed on June 30th, the XM4 Assault Rifle from Black Ops Cold War received a change to its recoil pattern. According to the official patch notes, the recoil on the XM4 has been “smoothed”.
It appears that this slight buff has made the XM4 a great Assault Rifle to use in Season 4. With the weapon meta currently in the best state Warzone has ever seen, almost every weapon is viable when dropping into Verdansk or Rebirth Island.
In a recent YouTube video uploaded on July 4th, JGOD drops into a match of Rebirth Island using a long range XM4 setup. The video mainly consists of gameplay, where its clear that the XM4 is a long-range killing machine with the right attachments. JGOD’s gameplay of the XM4 features extremely little recoil as he beams people out of the sky at long-range. Check out what class he was using below.
