Kingdom Hearts fans who already own a PS4, look away now. PlayStation Japan has uploaded some new images showing off the beautiful new special edition Kingdom Hearts III PS4 that’ll release alongside the game in Japan early next year on January 25.
Of course, the west is getting their own Kingdom Hearts III PS4 Pro but I’d be lying if I told you it even holds a candle to this. You can check out images of the console down below. The device will also come with an exclusive theme which can also be seen below… unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to have any music from the series included.
Whereas the Kingdom Hearts III PS4 Pro is rather dull in its design, the PS4 Slim shines as each iconic symbol from the series really pops on its shiny black exterior. It’s worth noting that if you really want this edition of the console, you can always have it imported as the device thankfully isn’t region locked. Just be prepared to dish out some extra dollars to have it shipped overseas.
Both the PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim support HDR (High Dynamic Range) but only the Pro will be able to output games at 4K quality. Additionally, the Pro offers some frame-rate boosts and overall higher speeds when navigating things outside of core gaming. There’s nothing wrong with settling for the western Kingdom Hearts III PS4 Pro, just expect to be the laughing stock amongst all your Disney/Kingdom Hearts loving friends who find out you settled for the lesser of the two (just kidding).
Kingdom Hearts III is coming to PS4 and Xbox One worldwide on January 25. You can pre-order the game right now if you haven’t already over on Amazon.
