With the release of Itadaki Street: Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary coming close, Square Enix has been promoting it in full swing across several events in Asia, and today they had a long showcase at the PS Carnival event in Taipei, Taiwan.
We get to see over thirty minutes of gameplay starring Anrusia from Dragon Quest X, Kefka from Final Fantasy VI, Carver from Dragon Quest VI, and Yuna from Final Fantasy X in their cute super-deformer guises working their way across the board buying and selling tiles in the typical Fortune Street variation of Monopoly.
Itadaki Street: Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary takes inspiration from the original board game Itadaki Street, invented by Dragon Quest creator Yujii Hori. Of course, it pays homage to the 30th anniversaries of the Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy series.
It comes with a large amount of characters from both franchises, and they will all be fully voiced, which is rather hilarious, considering that they didn’t do that for Dragon Quest XI.
You can check out the video below, and if you want to see more, you can enjoy some extensive gameplay from the recent Dragon Quest Summer Festival event in Tokyo, another trailer featuring Squall from Final Fantasy VIII, three more featuring Cloud and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, and Terry from Dragon Quest VI, a batch of further trailers introducing the opening cinematic (both with Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest themes accompanying it), and two characters from Dragon Quest X, Anrusia and Nelgel.
Itadaki Street: Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary will launch in Japan on October 19th for PS4 and PS Vita. No western release has been announced, for the moment.
