We already know that developer CD Projekt Red is pretty great at collaborating with special edition hardware — hell, just take a look at the amazing Xbox One X Cyberpunk 2077 Edition that sold out instantly. But what if the design team took a swing at some classic hardware? Now we have a good idea of what that would look like, thanks to a fan-made version of an OG Nintendo Game Boy.
Cyberpunk 2077 is without a doubt the most anticipated release of 2020. I know it. You know it. Other developers know it. And as fans get hyped for the imminent release, they are getting creative with their fan projects. With this in mind, Polish gamer Tomek Dittrich did an expertly made mockup of what an OG Nintendo Game Boy would look like if CD Projekt Red took a swing at it.
Seen in the tweet below, it’s worth noting that this is a digital project made in Blender — unfortunately not a real thing. The console, cheekily titled Nightcity Cyber Boy, sports the signature yellow and blue aesthetic, a tastefully-worn paint job, and a “No Future message on the back.”
On top of that, we get a glimpse of what a Cyberpunk 2077 Game Boy port might look like — well, at least the iconic scene with Keanu Reeves. But for a fan project, it’s a next-level mockup. Check out the tweet below:
As a great fan of both #GameBoy and #Cyberpunk2077 I couldn't resist to mix those two in my latest @blender_org project: Nightcity Cyber Boy – a retro gaming console of the future @BlenderNation @BlenderArtists @CDPROJEKTRED #Cyberpunk #Retro #RetroGaming pic.twitter.com/giy1G1nQ77

In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, it was revealed earlier this month that the game will not be releasing on Xbox Game Pass — unlike other games shown this week at the Xbox Games Showcase. Early adopters of the game will be able to score some swag from the company, so make sure to pre-order if you haven’t already.
Cyberpunk 2077 is launching on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 19, 2020; the game will eventually come to Google Stadia, PS5, and Xbox Series X after launch. If you haven’t pre-ordered the game yet, physical versions of the game are still discounted on Amazon — you can pre-order to help support DualShockers.
