If you’re tuning in to see Respawn’s new Battle Royale, you’ll probably have no idea what’s going on. The Apex Legends livestream started at 11 am EST and a full reveal is slated to begin at 3 pm EST (12 pm PST). Until then, we’ve got some really nice looking grass.
The stream went live with a luscious green landscape and has switched to another landscape since. This has garnered the attention of more than 40,000 viewers, with the numbers spiking every time a weird tribal person glitches onto the screen. That’s right, random visual glitches appear every 10-15 minutes or so and it sends the chat into a frenzy.
So far we’ve seen this ambiguous character motion to stab the viewer, as well as laying a combatant to rest with their weapon. I’m getting some serious tribal vibes right now, which is something that is absent from EA and Respawn’s Titanfall games.
Just now as I’m writing this another one of those suspicious glitches happened and revealed this quote:
“We achieve victory if it’s the will of the gods,”
After that, a timer that started around 3 hours and 30 minutes appeared. The scene quickly shifted away to what looks like another part of the game’s playable map.
Tomorrow you can expect to see a New AAA Battle Royale by @Respawn, and the Two-Time absolutely dominating it. Yayayayaya #ApexPartner #Ad pic.twitter.com/fq5WPaUENA

As you can understand, I’m not going to sit here for the next four hours and write about every single thing that happens. But if you are interested in this cryptic waste of time, you can check out the livestream below.
Apex Legends was teased yesterday during the Super Bowl, a big game of American Football for those of you not in the United States. Streaming personality Shroud also teased that he was at Respawn’s studio in Los Angeles alongside Dr. Disrespect and a few other Battle Royale streamers. The Doc himself promised to tell people more about today.
It’s unclear if the game is going to go live today, as rumors suggest, but EA adding in another battle royale game to the already overpopulated genre would seem strange considering their very own Battlefield V has yet to release its BR mode “Firestorm,” as it’s expected to in March.
Be sure to check out the site for when some actual news regarding this game breaks.
