If you’re interested in hearing some more sounds from the world of Halo Infinite, then prepare yourself for the punchy bangs of modern weaponry. In a new Instagram video, 343 Industries has revealed some behind the scenes footage of some of the guns being fired right next to a chunky microphone.

We’ve previously seen the developer using Gyoza, a pug to record the sounds of an alien based in the world of the upcoming Halo Infinite. In the latest video, we see principal software engineering lead —I think it may be Josh Lindquist— firing various modern weapons ranging from pistols, rifles, shotguns, and submachine guns.

The video also features some explosions being recorded. It’s certainly an interesting look at the creative process during development and it will be great to see how these sounds come across in-game. I’m interested in knowing what sound effects they implement, if at all, to add a personal Halo touch.

The 343 Industries team is no stranger to showing off their sound recordings, as above, they used a pug to record the breathy, snorty sounds for an alien. A couple of weeks ago they showed off the audio team recording a 1972 Chevy El Camino SS asking the community what they think the sounds will be used for. Warthog maybe?

It’s great to see frequent updates of the development process as the team works on the game. At current, Halo Infinite has no release date, but is slated to launch at some point later this year alongside the upcoming Xbox Series X. It’ll be launching on both the Xbox and Windows 10.
