It has been one year since 2018’s Game of the-Year God of War graced our screens. Now, Sony Santa Monica has dropped a new trailer featuring our favorite god for a documentary titled Raising Kratos. Will follow game director Cory Barlog, Santa Monica Studio’s team, and the beloved actors who portrayed Kratos, Atreus, and Freya as they work on God of War.
On PlayStation Blog, Game Development Head of Sony Worldwide Studios America Scott Rhode said “It’s only fitting on the one-year Anniversary. We’re excited to share this peak behind the curtain of God of War’s very own Santa Monica Studio. With a trailer for our upcoming film, Raising Kratos. This full-length feature documentary, coming very soon to PlayStation YouTube. Is an exploration into the massive undertaking it took to change the course of the God of War franchise.”
In a tweet following Raising Kratos’ announcement, Cory Barlog revealed that one of the scenes in the trailer was actually from an unused teaser. Sony was originally going to tease the new God of War in 2015’s God of War III Remastered for PS4, but those plans fell through:
Oh, to all asking about the final shot in the trailer.
That was the original pre-rendered teaser trailer for GOW 2018 we were going to hide on the GOW 3 remastered PS4 release. But we ran out of time to get it on the disc so it ended up getting put on the shelf until now.
