God of War (2018) is a monumental title on PlayStation 4 and it’s of little surprise considering how well the first game in the franchise did. It also may not come as a big shock that Naughty Dog’s upcoming release The Last of Us Part 2‘s pre-orders have outpaced those of God of War (2018) in the region of Brazil to become the highest-selling PlayStation exclusive ever prior to release. But even so, God of War remains a huge love with gamers and especially those with incredible artistic talents like André SiK who came up with what the adult version of Atreus, son of Kratos, would look like.
André SiK, a 3D character artist and digital sculptor from Brazil, only recently finished their very own piece of fan art of Atreus as an adult after wanting to create a God of War: Evolution piece to add to their portfolio to help improve creativity, skills, and knowledge and I think it’s safe to say that they have done that and more. SiK’s aim in this particular piece of work was to highlight Atreus’ journey into becoming a man in the years following his acknowledgment of knowing that he is a God. As you can see from the images below, Atreus’ clothing pays homage to his father, Kratos, who he has always tried to win the affection and respect from but also keeping the nordic style, alongside with some new tattoos and skin paintings in honor of his mother Laufey the Just, or Faye for short.
André states that their main goal for the God of War: Evolution piece was “To maintain the same style that was created for the God Of War game universe” and said that work from Raf Grassetti, Gilberto Magno, Glauco Longhi, and Igor Catto are inspirations for the artwork. André’s craftsmanship is truly impeccable as is their attention to details especially so on Atreus’ clothing and skin – if you look close enough, you can see small freckles, veins, and goosebumps.
Cory Barlog, creative director and writer of God of War at SIE Santa Monica Studio, got wind of the fan art on Twitter and commented “Nice” with a heart emoji which is probably the biggest compliment you could ever get when making any kind of art from God of War.
nice!!!

You can follow André SiK’s work on ArtStation or Instagram where you’ll come across some stunning Batman and Spiderman fan art pieces as well.
To see a similarly done piece of fan art that depicts an older Atreus, you can check out Sam Yang who does a bunch of brilliant digital paintings in photoshop. Recently Sam captured Atreus as a fully grown man and Kratos as a much older man in the background – it’s a really stunning piece that you can view right here. Coming in with some cosplaying adventures is Ibelinn, a talented cosplayer from Norway who mimicked the beautiful style of God of War’s goddess Freya and it suffices to say that all her hard work and hours put into this cosplay truly paid off
For those wanting to play God of War on PC, there was some news last month regarding this topic. Following some new changes surfacing on the PlayStation website, we saw that the U.S. version of the official PlayStation website no longer contains the “Only On Playstation” for God of War. This, of course, could mean many different things but as we have seen of late Sony is clearly intending to bring more of its first-party published titles to PC, even if it doesn’t mean God of War at this time.
God of War is available now exclusively on PS4. If you have yet to experience the game for yourself, you can pick up the game right now over on Amazon.
